Biofeedback is a technique in which a particular physiological activity is shown in real time to the individual, allowing him to learn to modify it, thereby changing his physiological and psychological condition.
There are different techniques of Biofeedback:
Neurofeedback or EEG-Biofeedback: based on electroencephalographic (EEG) activity.
Hemoencephalography (HEG): based on cerebral metabolism - local blood oxygenation.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV): based on heart rate.
Galvanic Skin Response (GSR): based on skin conductance change.
Considering that one of the most striking features of the brain is its ability to learn, we coordinate an extension project with the application of EEG-Biofeedback to aid in reducing stress symptoms.
Example of a training screen:
Service protocol: initially, the evaluation and analysis of the individual's EEG and its symptoms is performed (identification of physiological and psychological parameters for the application of Neurofeedback training).
Training sessions: 2 x per week - duration of 1h30min each. The number of sessions can vary from 10 to 30. After the 15th and 30th sessions (if they occur), the EEG and symptoms are evaluated and analyzed again (for monitoring).
Each session: electrodes are placed on specific areas of the scalp (based on evaluation) and the activity is presented in real time through a computer screen. Through sounds and/or videos, the individual is informed about how their system is "working".
